1999

A self-taught chef, Junior opened a fine-dining restaurant

The Madero Group’s history is strongly bonded with its founder, Chef Junior Durski. It was in Curitiba that he decided to turn his hobby of cooking into a business plan. In 1999 he opened Durski, his first restaurant.

2005

Opened first Madero Steak House

The first Madero Steak House opened at June 07, 2005. Madero Prime Steak House is located in the historic center of Curitiba city, in the South of Brazil.

2014

Launched first Madero Container in 2014

Opening of the first Madero Container in 2014, one of the first fast-casual concepts in Brazil, with a fast home format that offers a narrower menu focused on our grilled hamburgers.

2015

Launched the first phase of the new Central Kitchen

In 2015, the first phase of the current Central Kitchen was inaugurated, spanning 3,715 square meters in the city of Ponta Grossa, state of Paraná, Brazil, which now sits at the heart of the vertically integrated operating model. From the Central Kitchen is produced or supplied over 97% of the food served in the Madero Group’s restaurants, stored all supplies for the restaurants, and managed the entire distribution network.

2017

Launched the first Jeronimo

In 2017, the Jeronimo brand was launched, a technology-centric fast-casual concept that is uniquely positioned to target a younger, lower-income population at a lower price. This brand operates through the Jeronimo Burger brand, which operates in food courts and through independent restaurants in shopping centers, and through Jeronimo Track, an independent Jeronimo concept that also features a drive-thru.

2019

Partnered with The Carlyle Group

In January 2019, the Madero Group received an important investment of R$700.0 million from Madrid Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestratégia, an affiliate of the Carlyle Group, with the objective of our growth strategy, as well as contributing to the development of best corporate governance practices and improvement of internal controls.

2020

Launching of the 1st Ecoparada Madero

In December 2020, the first Ecoparada Madero was launched on Rodovia Castello Branco in the state of São Paulo, one of the main highways in Brazil. It is a gastronomic complex with an ESG concept to the roads of Brazil. This complex comprises 6 operations: Madero Grill, Madero Burger, Jeronimo, as well as the introduction of new brands such as Madero Café, Empório Madero and Madero Chicken, which will be expanded through the Dundee Chicken & Burgers brand.

2021

Obtaining of the Registration by the CVM as a Public-Held Company

In pursuit of our long-term strategy, in November 2021, we obtained registration as a Publicly-Held Company by the CVM (Brazilian Securities Commission), committing to greater disclosure of information and further improving our corporate governance.

 

New investment from The Carlyle Group

In November 2021, the Company received another investment of R$300 million in primary resources from The Carlyle Group, aiming to fund the sustainable expansion strategy of the Company’s restaurant network.

2022

Opening of the Operation No. 275 of the Restaurant Network

The Company ended 2022 achieving the important mark of 275 operations in all restaurant network, totaling 91 Madero Steak House, 79 Madero Container, 92 Jeronimo, 1 Durski, 2 Ecoparadas (with 10 operations), and 2 Dundee Chicken & Burgers.

 

Completion of the Company’s Debt Renegotiation Plan

At the beginning of 2022, the Company has completed its debt renegotiation plan, including the amortization of R$100 million of debt with banks, the issuance of a R$500 million CRA (Agribusiness Receivables Certificate) and the signature of amendments to debt contracts with banks BTG Pactual, Banco do Brasil and Bradesco, as well as amendment to the Company’s 4th Issuance of Debentures, extending their maturities to 5 years.
